Yorktown Prepares for Second Annual Holiday Lights Parade

The parade, which will end with the lighting of the Christmas Tree at the Jack DeVito Memorial Field, is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m.

Hundreds of spectators are expected to line the streets of downtown Yorktown Heights for the second annual Holiday Electric Lights Parade on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Residents can line up on Front Street starting at 5:30 p.m. with the parade starting at 6:30 p.m. and ending with the lighting of the Christmas Tree at the Jack DeVito Memorial Field.

Santa himself is expected to join in the parade, so residents are asked to bring their cameras to take a picture with him.

Residents can bring donations of boxed or canned non-perishable food items, or hats and gloves. The contributions will benefit local food pantries and Yorktown Community Help. Drop off boxes will be available at the Jack DeVito Field.

At last year's parade, fire trucks from several departments decorated in lights were joined by ambulances, highway department vehicles, floats and marchers from many organizations who marched to the Jack DeVito Memorial Field for the town tree lighting, hot chocolate and carolling.

The parade is scheduled rain, snow or shine.
