Don't Miss: Polar Bear Plunge; Holiday Train Show

There are tons of ways to keep busy around Yorktown and Somers this weekend. Here are the details for several great events.

Polar Bear Run and Plunge

Support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by taking part of the Tuff Kids Polar Bear Run and Plunge at New York Sports Club in Somers on Dec. 28 at 1 p.m. In this challenging event, children have a blast navigating through land and water obstacles and relays. After the event, cool down with food, games and prizes at the Polar Bear Party. Call 914.628.5600 to register.

Holiday Train Show in Somers

The holiday model train show at at Lasdon Park in Somers will be featured during the 'Holiday on the Hill' event which will run on Dec. 28 and Dec. 29 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

The fun-packed holiday show will feature trains running on more than 150 feet of track on a giant eight-foot by 22-foot multi-level layout. There will be dozens of tiny buildings and structures in a display that combines fantasy and real train themes, including the Polar Express chugging along to Santa’s Village at the North Pole and highlights of the Metro-North Railroad line from Manhattan to Katonah. Country Night at South Side Inn

It's Country Night with DJ Alan Kohn and the Premier Entertainment Dance Team on Saturday, Dec. 28 at South Side Inn in Yorktown starting at 9 p.m. Learn a dance or two with Premier Entertainment Dance team who will lead you on the dance floor and enjoy country music. 

Use Legos, Imagination at Library

Use Legos and your imagination to create a masterpiece at the Somers Library on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 1 p.m. Legos must be taken apart upon completion. The program is best for ages 6 and up. No registration is necessary. December's challenge is to build a marble maze.
