Safety, Security and Health Bond Vote
Lakeland Central School District community members are asked to consider an approximate $14.5 million Safety, Security and Health Bond proposition that would include the addition of a wide range of safety and security items throughout the district’s schools. The voting will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Van Cortlandtville Elementary School, 3100 East Main Street, Mohegan Lake. More details here.

The Yorktown Congress of Teachers, the Yorktown Food Pantry and Traditions 118 Restaurant are teaming up to combat hunger. Guiding Eyes for the Blind's Pet First Aid Course
Guiding Eyes for the Blind’s veterinary staff will present this course on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. It will cover the most common problems and presentations of animal emergencies and how to address them. Attendees will learn the fundamentals of pet first aid and will receive a step-by-step guide on creating their own first aid kit. The cost to attend is $50. Somers Fall Camp Expo
The Somers PTA is sponsoring a fall camp expo on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Somers Intermediate School. Lakeland Board of Education Meeting
The Board of Education will hold its regular business meeting on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, 3636 Gomer Street, Yorktown Heights. The meeting is open to the public and there are two opportunities for public comment.
'Tree of Life' Lighting Ceremony
The Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam will kick off its 25th annual Tree of Life celebration with a tree lighting ceremony at the Jefferson Valley Mall on Friday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. Festive holiday musical entertainment will be provided by the Taghkanic Chorale of Yorktown.
