Planning Board Discusses New Subdivision and New Office Building

Planning Board reviews 16 lot subdivision off Strawberry Rd and an office building.The board encourages members of Yorktown Smart Growth to participate in the planning process.

Regular Session
1. The board approved time extensions for Crompond Crossing and a minor subdivision due to delays in obtaining NYCDEP approval, for the Hudson Valley Islamic Community Center, and an amendment to an approving resolution for a second minor subdivision.
 
2. Fieldstone Manor (Strawberry Road & Lexingiton Ave.)
The board held a public informational meeting for the purpose of giving residents an early opportunity to comment on the proposed 16 lot clustered subdivision that will utilize the Town’s flexibility standards in order to preserve several features of the site. Questions were raised about traffic and parking for the two potential ballfields on the site.
 
Work Session
3. Lake Osceola Realty Corp. (Hill Blvd.)
The board reviewed revised plans for a scaled down office building between Hill Blvd and Lake Oseola (behind the existing medical building) and a series of potential mitigation measures to control stormwater runoff and protect the wetlands. The development would share parking with Ceola Manor.
 
4. Yorktown Smart Growth
Four members of Yorktown Smart Growth had an informal discussion with the board about the group’s goals and how they could work with the Planning Board. The Board welcomed their input and encouraged them to participate in the planning process.
