13U NO LIMIT BALLERS CAPTURE CROWN AT BIG TIME SHOOTOUT
Concluding their 2013 summer season with a Championship at the Stowe Lax Festival in Stowe, Vermont, the 13U No Limit Ballers opened their 2014 campaign on June 22, 2014 in the Maverik Big Time Shootout. The Ballers played five 44-minute games during this one day tournament held in Garden City, New York.

The Ballers faced teams from Connecticut, Long Island and Westchester and dominated the seeding round finishing a perfect 4 and 0. On their way to the #1 seed, and a bye into finals, the Ballers out-scored their opponents 43 to 9.
In the Championship Game, the Ballers faced the #2 seed, the 3 and 1 Eastport South Manor Sharks (Team ESM). Under the direction of Yorktown High School’s Junior Varsity Head Coach Joe Borges, the Ballers jumped out to a 4 to 1 lead, only to see Team ESM fight back with three unanswered goals to knot the game at 4. Two goals helped the Ballers establish a 6 to 4 lead, until Team ESM notched a goal with five minutes to go, which narrowed the lead to one. However, using a methodical ball-control offense and a lockdown defense, the Ballers limited Team ESM’s possession time and scored a goal in the waning seconds of the game, capturing the Championship 7 to 5.

In addition to Head Coach Borges, the Ballers are guided by Coaches Derek Koelsch and Tim Weir. The Ballers are comprised of the following players: Arlington’s Ben Meyers and Dennis Rugar, Cortlandt’s Sean Laukaitis and Max Popolizio, Croton’s Blake Borges, Rye’s James Godvin, and Yorktown’s Reese Andrews, Vincent DiNotte, Keegan Doller, Dante Esposito, Ryan Ferrara, Alex Fraioli, Tyler McDonlad, Daniel O’Meara, Chris Perrino, Tommy Weaver, Brian Weir, Brendan Williams and Antonio Zeolla.
