Yorktown Central School District has used up all of its snow days for the school year and if its snows in February or March, spring break might be cut short for students.
If additional full days are used for inclement weather, the next days out of school will be made up in the following order: March 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29.
The spring break is currently scheduled to run from Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29.
New York State attendance requirements call for at least 180 days of attendance – of which four can be conference days.
The school district lost five school days when superstorm Sandy hit the region last year. Two days, which were originally scheduled as Superintendent's Conference Days, were taken back to used as instructional days.
