School Budget Vote and Election May 17

On Tuesday, May 17, all school districts in the area are holding voting for their budgets and school board elections. Here is what you need to know for the Lakeland and Yorktown school districts.

Lakeland Central School District Voting:

When: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Budget: $157,235,514 budget for the 2011-2012 school year. If approved, the budget will raise taxes 2.57 percent.

Yorktown Central School District Voting:

When: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Budget: $91,125,000 budget for the 2011-2012 school year. If approved, the budget includes a 1.99 percent tax levy increase and 1.86 percent tax rate increase.
