Workshop to Teach Powerful Techniques for Releasing Anxiety for Those Living with Breast & Ovarian Cancer

Support Connection, Inc. announces a free program for people living with breast or gynecological cancers: "Releasing Anxiety: Powerful Techniques for Transforming Worry and Fear" will be offered on Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 6:30– 8:30 pm at the Warner Library, 121 North Broadway, Tarrytown, NY 10591.  Pre-registration is required.

Anxiety is often a "side effect" of dealing with the uncertainty that comes with a cancer diagnosis. If you have been suffering from anxiety, join stress-management specialist and counselor Cathleen O'Connor for a workshop on how to transform worry and fear and release anxiety. You will learn new ways of working with your mind to move through worry and fear, as well as proven techniques to understand and manage the physical responses of your body to anxiety. Also learn breathing exercises that shift the experience of anxiety to calm, and ways to replace reactive habits used to "calm" your self with new empowering methods of response.

Cathleen O'Connor is a former corporate executive who has established a Westchester holistic wellness center, StoneWater Sanctuary®, where a variety of holistic wellness approaches are offered.  As a certified stress management specialist, Cathleen has a CD of guided imagery meditations called "From Stress to Serenity."
