Supervisor Grace Wins Re-Election, Looks Forward to Second Term

Yorktown Supervisor Michael Grace has been re-elected to a second term in office after his victory Tuesday night against Yorktown Councilman Nick Bianco.

Grace (R), who has 55-percent of the votes in the race – with 37 of 43 districts reporting – said he is looking forward to continuing working on the projects he started. He called his victory over Bianco (D, C, I) "resounding."

"It's very gratifying in the sense that it's affirmation the town is pleased with the direction in which we are moving in," Grace said. "People were engaged in the issues and they voted to keep the progress going."

Bianco said Grace was gracious to him after his victory.

"[Grace] won fair and square," Bianco said. I have no regrets. I wish him luck. I think he will do a great job. We're still friends."

Bianco said he looks forward to working together with Grace for the next two years.

In the town board race – with 86 percent of districts reporting – Yorktown Councilman Terrence Murphy appears to have won with 4,169 votes. The race between incumbent Vishnu Patel and Rich Campanaro is too close to call, but Patel is leading by 189 votes.
