Yorktown Man Breaks TV, Chokes Person, Found in Possession of Stolen Phone

A 25-year-old Yorktown man was arrested on Dec. 10 for breaking a television, choking a person and being in possession of a stolen cell phone, police said.

He was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, criminal obstructions of breathing and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Police said the arrest stems from a Nov. 26 incident when the man broke the TV set, intentionally impeded the blood flow or breathing of another person and being in possession of the stolen cell phone. An arrest warrant was issued for the man who was arrested on Dec. 10 when he was located  by the White Plains Police Department.

The man was remanded to the Westchester County Department of Corrections in lieu of $10,000 cash or $15,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Dec. 12.
