Yorktown Cops: Man Pulls Knife During Road Rage, Gets Beaten Up, Arrested

A 44-year-old Vt. Vernon man, who threatened another man with a knife during a road rage incident in Yorktown, was beaten by the other person, taken to a hospital and later arrested, police said. 

Police said they received a report about an assault in progress on Front Street on July 25 around 8:30 a.m. The responding officers discovered the altercation was as a result of a road rage incident on Underhill Avenue. 

When one of the drivers stopped at his place of employment on Front Street, the 44-year-old man confronted him with a knife. During the fight, the Mt. Vernon man was struck, injured and then treated at a local hospital, police said. 

When he was released from the hospital, he was taken to police headquarters and charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanors. 

He was released and scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Aug. 6. 

The other unidentified driver was not arrested.
