Troopers: Yorktown Woman Steals Items from Shoprite in Cortlandt

A 23-year-old Yorktown woman is facing criminal charges for stealing items from a Cortlandt store, state police said.

The woman was arrested on Sept. 6 at around 1:02 p.m. and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. Loss prevention officers at Shoprite in Cortlandt reported that they witnessed her conceal items in her purse and pass all points of sale without making an attempt to pay for the items, according to a police report.

She was taken into custody and scheduled to appear in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court on Sept. 27.
