Troopers: Somers Woman, 57, Struck Fence, Charged With DWI

A 57-year-old Somers woman is facing a drunken driving charge after she crashed her vehicle into a fence and attempted to leave the scene of the accident, state troopers said. 

The accident occurred on Sept. 11 at about 2:23 p.m. in the area of Route 118 and Tomahawk Street. State troopers said the woman exited the road and struck a fence, then continued for approximately 50 feet before attempting to leave the scene of the accident. 

The woman was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. 

She was scheduled to appear in Somers Town Court on Sept. 23.
