State Police Cite Clerks at 2 Businesses for Underage Alcohol Sales

Clerks at two of the ten establishments checked by state police during a recent underage drinking initiative in Somers and Yorktown violated the law by selling alcohol to a minor, officials said.

Employees at the Baldwin Place Valero in Somers and the Shrub Oak Gas Mart in Shrub Oak were cited for making the sales on Sunday, Feb. 2. Each received a court appearance ticket.

The businesses will be "subjected to further scrutiny" by the New State Liquor Authority, police said.
