Police: 3 People Found Sleeping in Stolen Car

Three South Carolina residents – ages 16, 18 and 29 – are facing felony charges in Yorktown after they were found in possession of a stolen car, Yorktown police said. 

A Yorktown police officer saw the two males and one female sleeping in a parked vehicle on Access Road on Oct. 18. Further investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Massachusetts, police said. In addition, two counterfeit $20 bills were found in the vehicle, police said. 

Jordan A. Shirey, 18, Justice L. Washell, 16, and Gail M. Bullett, 29, were all charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property and first degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, felonies.

They were remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail each. The three people were scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Oct. 25.
