The possible burglary was reported at about 7:30 a.m. this morning, Yorktown police told Patch.

The suspect, who is described as a white male, fled on foot, police said.

Police did not have more details to release at this moment, but they said residents should be wary of anyone suspicious and if they see anything, they should immediately call the Yorktown Police Department at 914-962-4141.

A Yorktown resident, who lives in the area, said she saw the police cars speed up by her house and heard the helicopters overhead. She said her neighborhood is usually quiet and neighbors feel safe, but she alerted her neighbors of the ongoing activity – to make sure they lock their doors and keep their children inside.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
