Man, 20, Charged with DWI in Yorktown

A 20-year-old Bronx man is facing a number of charges including drunken driving, Yorktown police said. 

James R. Shinnick's vehicle was stopped on Dec. 28, 2012 at approximately 3:05 a.m. for passing through the Commerce Street/Hanover Street intersection without coming to a complete stop at a stop sign, police said. 

In addition, when he made a right turn to continue on Commerce Street, he crossed over the double yellow line and almost struck the curb, police said.

Shinnick was found to be drunk with charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor; having a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or more, a misdemeanor; passing through a stop sign, and crossing the double yellow line, traffic infractions. 

Shinnick was released to an adult friend and scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Feb. 12.
