Jefferson Valley Woman, 84, Strikes Motorcycle, Leaves Scene of Accident

An 84-year-old Jefferson Valley woman is facing criminal charges for leaving the scene of an accident after striking a motorcycle and injuring the operator, Yorktown police said. 

Police said the woman had passed a red light Route 6 at the intersection of the Taconic State Parkway on Aug. 10. In the process, she struck the motorcycle, injured the driver and left the scene without stopping, police said. 

The woman was located at her nearby home where she was arrested on Aug. 10 at around 11 a.m. She was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury auto accident, a misdemeanor; as well as passing a red light, a traffic infraction. 

She was released without bail and scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Sept. 10.
