Police: Drunk Driver Found Unconscious Behind Wheel

Stolen Bottle of Cologne from Sears

A 22-year-old Lincolndale man faces a petty larceny charge in Yorktown for allegedly stealing a bottle of cologne, police said.

Perry R. Shepard was arrested on Aug. 15 after security reported to police the man had allegedly stolen the cologne, which was valued at $48. Shepard was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor.

The defendant was released on $100 bail and was scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 18.

Suspended Registration, Disobeying No Passing Markings

A 33-year-old Mohegan Lake man has been charged with operating a vehicle with suspended registration, a misdemeanor and disobeying no passing markings, a violation.

Jose F. Morales was stopped by Yorktown police on Aug. 14 for allegedly disobeying a no passing marking on Lexington Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Morales. Further investigation revealed his vehicle allegedly had a suspended registration.

Morales was arrested, released and scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 13.

Man Thrown Metal Object at Victim

A 20-year-old Yorktown man is due in court on Thursday to answer a criminal charge that he allegedly injured a victim during a domestic dispute, police said.

Nicholas J. Pagliaro was charged with third-degree attempted assault, a misdemeanor. The man allegedly injured a victim when he threw a metal object at the person during a domestic dispute on Aug. 10.

Pagliaro was arrested, released and scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 23.

Drunk Driver Found Unconscious Behind Wheel

A 53-year-old Ossining woman, who was found unconscious behind the wheel, has been arrested for driving drunk, Yorktown police said.

Monica Brache was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and failure to maintain a traffic lane, a traffic violation. Police said they received a call from the Mohegan Lake Fire Department about a stopped vehicle on Route 6 near Sunnyside Street with a possible unconscious driver behind the wheel.

The driver was identified as Brache and police revealed the woman had driven in an intoxicated condition. She was arrested after being treated at the Hudson Valley Hospital for an unknown medical condition.

Brache was released and scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 11.

Motorcyclist Gets Injured, Arrested

A 21-year-old Yorktown man faces a number of criminal charges after he got into an accident on Baptist Church Road.

Michael H. Bernecker was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation (misdemeanor), speed not reasonable and prudent (traffic infraction), disobey pavement markings (traffic infraction) and failure to maintain lane (traffic infraction).

Police said the man was operating a motorcycle westbound on Baptist Church Road at a speed that was "not reasonable and prudent for the road conditions," which caused him to run off the roadway. In addition, the defendant disobeyed the pavement markings and failed to maintain his lane of travel, police said. He was allegedly operating his motorcycle while his license was suspended.

Bernecker was arrested, released and scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 6.
