Attempted Burglary at Magic Carpet with Airsoft Gun
Daniel J. Ucci, 24, is due in Yorktown Town Court July 22 to answer charges of second-degree attempted burglary, a felony, and second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.
Police said the manager of Steinman Magic Carpets in the parking lot of the Jefferson Valley Mall said a man entered and pointed a handgun at him at about 1:15 a.m. July 17. The man then ran away.
Officers Daniel Kaen, Robert Pavletich and Robert Doerr responded to the call and got a description of the intruder. Kaen stopped a man who matched the suspect's description on Hill Boulevard.
Arrested and processed, Ucci, a Jefferson Valley resident, was then released on $10,000 bail.
Police said the weapon was a black airsoft gun.
