Arrest in $28K Jewelry Theft in Private Yorktown Home

Yorktown police have arrested a 36-year-old Port Chester man accused of stealing $28,000 worth of jewelry from a Journey's End Road home on Sunday.

The homeowner told police he was there doing contracting work.

Yorktown Police identified him as Louis B. Lopez. He was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Officer Paul Dillon responded to the home after a call at 8:15 a.m. on March 3. A resident said the jewelry had been stolen the day before.

Det. Sean Lewis is also working on the investigation.

Lopez was arraigned by Judge Salvatore Lagonia, who served Lopez with a temporary order of protection. Lopez was sent to Westchester County Jail with $50,000 bail.

His next court date is March 11.
