Obituary: Stephen Boucher, Former Yorktown Fire Commissioner

From the Yorktown Funeral Home: Stephen Boucher, a Yorktown resident and former Yorktown Heights Fire District Commissioner, passed away on Dec. 28, 2013. He was 88. 

Boucher was born Oct. 3, 1925 in the Bronx to Stephen and Alice Boucher. He served honorably in the US Navy during WWII. He married Theresa Thompson on Feb. 3, 1951 and moved to Yorktown in 1956 to raise their family.

He was a life member of the Yorktown Heights Engine Co. #1 and was the former Fire Commissioner of the Yorktown Fire District. He was also an usher at St. Patrick’s Church for more than 50 years.

Boucher is survived by his wife Theresa, three daughters Patricia Schratz (Paul), Susan Muccilli (Nick) and Stephanie Boucher, a brother Robert Boucher. He is also survived by four grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 3 at noon at St. Patrick’s Church.  Interment to follow at Amawalk Hill Cemetery.
