My Brother Vinny & Yorktown Heights Eng. Co "Adopt Fire Houses" & February Newsletter!

Thank you Adopt Fire Houses Update & Feb Newsletter

Thank you so much for participating in our “Adopt a Fire House” program that “My Brother Vinny” and the “The Yorktown Heights Engine Company #1” coordinated to help the Breezy Point Fire Departments still recovering from the effects of Hurricane Sandy.  When we first received a phone call asking for help we did not expect to see the fire houses and residents still so far along on the recovery process. With the donations the we recieved we have been able to help the Fire
Department have a warm meal and it accompanied so many donations such as;
couches, chain saws, water, clothing, thermals, hats, gloves, water cans and
our list is still continuing. We have made a commitment to ensure that the
Point Breeze Fire Department, Rockaway Point and the Roxbury Point Fire
Department know we are a friend they can count on and we will be in it for the
long haul to help them along the recovery process.  We are currently waiting for our next list of items needed; please stay tuned and thank you so much for participating in our previous donation days!

Our most recent trip on 2/18; we brought down donations of wedges that were donated by the Millwood Fire Department, cases of water from Turco's, Gatorade from Rocky's Deli, non perishables,water cans, chainsaws, etc.  Felix Hughes, Jr from Mamaroneck Village also accompanyied us with his family and brought down  a truck load of donations.  In addition, Yorktown High School donated getting dessert from a swing dance they hosted for us to bring down.

Point Breeze Fire Chief Marty Ingram was moved by the donations and said “through all the tragedy, it’s a blessing to see all the goodwill in people.”
