If you've been hanging on to some furniture you don't need-or don't like-just because you know somewhere, someone will need it, this Saturday is your lucky day!
Furniture Sharehouse, Westchester's own furniture bank-will be holding a special drop-off event at their warehouse on the grounds of the Westchester County Airport Saturday 12/15 from 9:30-11:30am. Furniture Sharehouse collects clean, basic, average-sized furniture in good condition, to re-distribute it free, by appointment to clients of their 40 Westchester County based member agencies.
In addition to furniture, they welcome working small appliances (toaster ovens, microwaves, coffee makers, lamps), rugs, wall art and mirrors. Before you load up your vehicle, please review the donor guidelines to make sure they can take what you'd like to donate.
All-volunteer, Furniture Sharehouse is a 501c3 charity, and will provide you with a receipt for your taxes. Since opening their doors 5 1/2 years ago, they have helped to furnish close to 1500 Westchester County families.
