Mahopac Schools Launch App

Want to know what time your child’s basketball game begins? Or maybe you need to know the dates for spring recess? Or see what’s on the lunch menu tomorrow? Or contact your child’s teacher? Or check on an assignment? Or find out how the volleyball team did in its last game?

Mahopac Central School District has an app for that!

That’s right; parents, students, teachers, staff and community members now can download a free app for iPhone or Android devices that puts all of the district’s resources at their fingertips. News feeds, calendars, directories, photos, social media links and emergency notices all can be found on the app.

“This is just another way we’re reaching out to the community and making it easier for people to become informed and involved in the schools,” said Superintendent Thomas Manko. “We know how busy people are today and this puts the district’s information in one, easily accessible place.”

Although the app will continue to be tweaked for maximum efficiency, it is ready to be downloaded now. To download the app, go to the App Store for iPhones or to Google Play for Android smart phones and type in Mahopac CSD. You will then see the district logo – a capital M with an Indian arrow through it. Choose the app and click on install.

Once installed, the app can be customized to the user’s preferences. “It is a great resource. We hope everyone uses it,” said Manko.
