Yorktown's Circolo daVinci Honors 9 Local Veterans

Members of Circolo daVinci, the Italian American organization of Yorktown, honored local veterans during their Nov. 7 general meeting at Ceola Manor in Jefferson Valley.

The veterans who were honored include:

  • Frank Tempestelli U.S.Navy
  • John Settembino U.S. Air Force
  • Charles LaMonica, U.S. Army
  • Anthony Grasso, U.S. Army
  • Frank DiBartolo, U.S. Army
  • Francesca Rendina, U.S. Navy
  • Dennis Castelli, U.S. Army
  • Joseph "Tip" Garigliano, U.S. Army
  • Christopher Arnold, U.S. Army
These veterans represented service from World War ll, Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq. They each spoke about their experiences and memories of their service. 

"It was a very special evening listening to their first person accounts, many speaking out for the first time," Dorothea LaScala said. "Heroes, every one. Although the genertions were from 1940's to today, the common thread among them was if asked to do it again, each one said they would still go."

Members of Circolo daVinci said they were priviliged to thank them for their service and won't forget the sacrifice they made.
