Lakeland Alum Deanna Tozzo Named Tennis All-Independent

In recognition of her outstanding achievements on the tennis court in the 2013 season, The College of New Rochelle’s Deanna Tozzo, a Lakeland High School graduate, has been named to the inaugural women’s tennis All-Independent team.

Tozzo, a sophomore at the college, was a two-time Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Player of the Week, and was one of just two underclassmen to be selected All-Independent.

Playing at #1 singles and #1 doubles for the Blue Angels, she led the team in wins in each category as well as overall for the season.

The Shrub Oak native adds this accolade to the HVIAC All-Conference Team honors she received for the second straight season after advancing to the HVIAC Tournament Semifinals for the second consecutive season at # 1 singles and doubles.
