The 18th Annual Support-A-Walk for breast and ovarian cancer awareness, presented by Support Connection, Inc., will take place on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, rain or shine, at FDR Park in Yorktown Heights, NY. It is a 3-mile walkathon held each year to focus attention on the needs of people affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Each year, thousands of people from across the Hudson Valley come together for this uplifting community event. Many participants walk in celebration of or in tribute to those affected by these diseases. Proceeds help fund Support Connection’s free support services for people affected by breast and ovarian cancer. I don't like the new layout either. I can't find anything, and most of the "comments"Read More have been deleted.

I agree. Yet another case of don't fix what's not broken...

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
