Ladies Night at Yorktown Teen Center

Ladies Night for teens and moms is planned for Nov. 12, 2010. The night's events include shopping for the holidays and an introductory women's self defense workshop, "Fit 4 Fighting."

"Fit 4 Fighting" is a self defense program especially designed for women.

Join Killeen Good and the Gorillas for this 60 minute introductory class that will teach skills of protection. Participants will walk out with more confidence and be energized. The workshop is open to girls in 6th to 12th grade. Mothers are welcome to come with a teen. This is a necessary College Prep class for high school seniors. There is no fee.

At the Holiday Bazaar, shoppers will be able to purchase candles, beauty products, jewelry, kitchen supplies, handbags and other items knowing that a portion of the sales will benefit teen programs.  Refreshments will be available. Bazaar hours are 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Yorktown Teen Center is a 501c3 charity corporation established in August 2009. Its mission is to provide safe, positive, enriching, fun, supervised programs for teens. The center is located in room 102 at the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center, 1974 Commerce Street, Yorktown.
