Lakeland High School Teacher Wins Joy of Effort Award

Mike Macchi has received the 1st annual New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Joy of Effort Award.

Lakeland High School's Mike Macchi recently received the 1st annual New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Joy of Effort Award.

The award is given in recognition of those individuals who, through word, action and deed, reveal that the effort made to enhance and achieve the goals and objectives of quality health, physical education, recreation or dance programs is a labor of love inspired by commitment and dedication.

This is a new award that was given for the first time at the 75th Annual Conference in November 2012. The award was given by the organization which represents thousands of NYS Physical Educators.
