Garbage Pick Up Suspended until Monday

More dry ice is expected to be available later in the day which will be distributed at the Triangle Shopping Center in Yorktown.

The town of Yorktown remains in a declared State of Emergency and residents are urged to continue to stay off the roadways so emergency workers can continue to clear fallen trees and wires to restore electrical power.

Garbage pick up in the town has been suspended until Monday, Nov. 5 when the normal schedule will be resumed.

More dry ice is expected to be available later in the day which will be distributed at the Triangle Shopping Center. For information on times of distribution, residents can call 211.

Yorktown police warn residents it is still "extremely dangerous" on the roads due to fallen trees, electrical wires and traffic lights that are out.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
