Communities Salute Their Veterans

Share photos of your local Veterans Day observances.

Throughout our area on Veterans Day, communities are honoring their veterans with parades and ceremonies in honor of those who served, fought, and in some cases, made the ultimate sacrifice defending our country and all that it stands for.

Tomorrow is a federal holiday in observance of the national day. Many towns took time today to host their celebrations of our nation's heroes.

Here are photos from the Somers parade and ceremony; please share photos and videos of your community's Veteran's Day observances here.

Hi, the last pic is of Beford Boy Scout Troup 129 who participated in the Veterans Day Parade in Manhattan on Sunday marching with the Veterans Administration. The Troup marched as part of a grass-roots effort led by scout Wesley Albright as part of his eagle scout project to help veterans who have PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). Wesley and Troup 129 are doing much more in this area and I applaud them. Xenia D'Ambrosi
