Two days until the Grange Fair!

The 89th Annual Yorktown Grange Fair opens Thursday evening at 5:00pm, and all indications point to a memorable fair. The weather report looks great from now right through the weekend (no tornado warnings like last year), and a visit to the fairgrounds this afternoon during set-up amped up the anticipation level.
There was a steady stream of residents young and old registering contest entries (art, photography, needlework, and Legos), carnival rides were being erected (including bumper cars this year!), and finishing touches were being made to the brand new pole barn which will house the flower and produce exhibits this year. The new barn will be formally dedicated the "Jerry Mulcahy Memorial Building" on Sunday at 1:00pm in honor of the longtime Grange Fair and 4-H member.
Something else that is new at the Fair this year is the Karaoke Contest which will take place on the main stage from 5:00 to 6:30 pm Thursday with the audience determining the winners. Trophies will be awarded so come early and bring your own cheering section!
Check back each day for new posts and highlights of this year's Grange Fair.
