Spectacular Saturday at the Grange Fair

WOW! What a perfect day and night at the Yorktown Grange Fair on Saturday! The weather was wonderful, the night was warm, the crowds were happy, the shows were popular, the food was delicious!
Some highlights from Saturday:
- the Antique Tractor Parade was like a pied piper leading the crowds to the fairgrounds on a beautiful day. (one town councilman was overheard exclaiming "this is the best parade all year")
- Annie & The Natural Wonder Band had little kids jumping and dancing
- The Great Charlini Magic Show had the kids screaming and laughing
- the 4-H rabbit and dog costume contest drew a large crowd to the blacktop
- Cimarron Ranch put on a barrel racing demonstration in the horsering
- Chris Clark's Bicycle Stunt Show continued to draw large crowds
- the Yorktown Teen Center and the Justin Veatch Foundation showcased two very talented acts: Christine Errol, a Croton High junior had the crowd in her hand; and Trifecta, a teen power trio from Mahopac, flashed some serious rock chops. I have a feeling we'll be hearing alot more about both of these acts in the future.
- the watermelon eating contest was a crowd favorite as always
- and Chain of Fools played infectious Motown hits into the clear warm night

It's hard to imagine a better day at the Fair, but hold on - still one more day to go. I'll have a preview of Sunday's events tomorrow morning...
