Justin Veatch Fund to Showcase Young Talent and Pink Floyd Tribute Band at Yorktown Stage

Daisy Jopling wil produce and perform in a Sept. 16 show featuring local teens and Pink Floyd tribute band Beyond the Wall.

The Justin Veatch Fund is putting local young musical talent "up against the wall" at a concert to be presented at  in September. 

“The wall” is the Pink Floyd tribute band "Beyond the Wall" which will headline. The Sept. 16 event will feature some of The Fund's favorite local teen artists who have appeared at and its .

"The concert is part our vision to give local talent the opportunity to perform on a big stage setting and open for a headline act,” said Jeffrey Veatch, The Fund's President. "We are also thrilled to have noted violinist Daisy Jopling of Peekskill produce the show as well as perform in it.”

Veatch said Jopling and her band filled the Paramount Theater in Peekskill last March in a program that featured other local artists and benefited Peekskill area youth music programs. Jopling also played a major role in The Justin Veatch Fund's second annual summer music workshop that was held in Pleasantville last month.

"The Justin Veatch Fund creates invaluable opportunities for these outstandingly talented teens," Jopling said. "I am honored and excited to work with them on this performance."

The Danbury-based Pink Floyd tribute band “Beyond the Wall” will include a special light show with its performances.

The Justin Veatch Fund is a non-profit organization created by the Veatch family following the death of their 17-year-old son Justin Veatch from an accidental drug overdose in 2008. Proceeds from the concert will support Fund programs designed to nurture local teen talent as well as annual scholarships for graduating high school seniors planning further study of music.

"We are hoping to expand the scholarships in amount and number," Veatch said.

The Fund also co-sponsors First Fridays Open Mic nights with The from October through May.

Reduced price advance tickets will be available at The Justin Veatch Fund website store page beginning this week. The event will be held on Sept. 16 at 7 p.m.
