Yorktown Teen Center and Solaris Sports Club Host Saturday Night Swoosh

More than 30 teen competed in contest during an event last Saturday.

The gym was filled with young competitors aiming to win prizes in a basketball contest. One solo female entry, Amanda Geyer, walked away with first place in the three point contest. 

The and Solaris Sports Club sponsored Saturday Night Swoosh last weekend, three point and foul shot contests. More than 30 youth competed in the events.

Winners of the Three Point Contest middle school division were: first place, Amanda Geyer, seventh grader at Mahopac Middle School; second place Ryan Hill eighth grade and Aiden Donnelly, sixth grader, both from Mildred E. Strange Middle School. The high school three point division winners were Billy Arnold first place and Michael Monteruli second place. Foul Shooting winners were: Nick DeGennaro, first place; Ryan Hill second place and Jamison Embury, third place.

Yorktown Teen Center is a charity corporation established in August 2009. Its mission is to provide safe, positive, enriching, fun, supervised programs for teens. The center is located in room 102 at the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center, 1974 Commerce Street, Yorktown.
