Yorktown Masons Donate Emergency Radios to CERT Volunteers

Members of the Yorktown Masonic Lodge #1154 have donated emergency two-way radios to the Yorktown Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and presented them on Dec. 21.

The radios will be used to facilitate communication between CERT members during shelter operations and any other emergency situations when the team is mobilized.

Yorktown Public Safety Officer Larry Eidelman thanked the Masons for their contribution to the team and their commitment to the safety and well being of the residents of Yorktown. Along with Officer Eidelman, CERT members Judge Sal Lagonia and Loretta Lagonia were on hand to accept the donation.

Yorktown Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program was created in 2012 and trains volunteers in basic response skills and empowers them to supplement current emergency responders in case of a disaster.
