Release: Underhill Shopping Center Celebrates 40th Anniversary

After 40 years of business, the Underhill Shopping Center is celebrating its anniversary by inviting all community members who have helped make this center a success.   

"In today's tough economic times, it's really hard to keep your doors open for 40 years, so we wanted to help Underhill Plaza create something really special, as a great way to say "thanks" to the Yorktown community for supporting them," said Chereese Jervis-Hill, president of Events To Remember.  

Residents are invited to a family fun filled day on Sunday, Sept. 18 from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Underhill Shopping Center, 1875 Commerce St. There will be something for everyone- food, shopping, entertainment, music with DJ Stevie G, rides like the Velcro Olympics, Carousels, 4-in-1 Obstacle Course and more provided by Fun Time Amusements. While there, you can explore the 17 stores at the Underhill Shopping Center.

This celebration is sponsored by the Underhill Plaza shop owners: Cartridge World, Curves, East Coast Pain Management, PC, Gourmet Kitchen, Hair Design Center, Heights Hospital for Animals, J&B Family Jewelers, Not Tutu Shabby, Plaza Laundromat, Rendezvous Nail & Day Spa, State Farm Insurance, The Country Florist, Travel Network, W.S. The event is free for everyone. Children can enjoy the rides, while their parents can enjoy a day of strolling, shopping and relaxation.
