Golden Guest Day at Crompond; Somers Seed Lending Library; Rain Today

1) Crompond School's fourth grade staff and students will be celebrating Golden Guest Day along with their very special “Golden Guests” on Tuesday, Nov. 26. This time-honored tradition includes musical performances by the youngsters at the multi-generational event.

The program is entitled “A Time to Give Thanks” to encourages students to display gratitude for cultural traditions surrounding the family unit.

2) The Somers Seed Lending Library is a free community heirloom seed lending project, demonstrating that libraries check out more than books. Growers get seeds from the seed catalog in the library, and record what seeds they 'borrow'. They then grow their plants, and at the end of the growing season, harvest seeds from those plants and return them to the Seed Library for people to borrow during the next growing season. 5) According to the National Weather Service, there is a chance of snow and sleet before noon, then a chance of rain and sleet between noon and 3 p.m. More rain is expected after 3 p.m.
