Arctic Blast in Yorktown, Somers; Winter Choral Concert; Park Rangers Needed

Wind chill values can be as low as -19 on Tuesday.

1) Yorktown Town Board members will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. Click here for the agenda.

2) According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will be mostly sunny and cold, with a high near 7. Wind chill values can be as low as -19. The day is expected to be breezy, with a west wind around 21 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph.

3) The Lakeland High School’s Winter Choral Concert will now be held on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Lakeland High School Auditorium. The concert was originally scheduled for Dec. 17 and was canceled due to poor weather conditions. It was rescheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 7 but due to the forecast for poor weather conditions, the new date is Tuesday, Jan. 14.

4) The Somers Board of Education workshop will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Somers Middle School library.

5) The Westchester County Department of Public Safety is accepting applications for seasonal park rangers to patrol county parks this summer. Applications are due by Feb. 21 and are available online at the Department of Public Safety’s web pages: http://www.westchestergov.com/ps.
