Field Hockey

The Shrub Oak Athletic Club is having its field-hockey program for girls in grades 3-8 from the end of August through Nov. 10.
Grades 3-4 will be in clinic format while those in grades 5-8 will be in a travel format playing teams from Southern Westchester and Connecticut.

Practices will be held Sunday evenings from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on the turf at Lakeland High School.

Baseball
Vincent Mercogliano of the LoHud Baseball Blog looks ahead to next year's high-school baseball season.
He has Kennedy Catholic No. 1, Somers No. 2 and Lakeland No. 4 in Class A.

For those who were trying to reach me at my personal email this weekend, I apologize I didn’t answer and that was because I was hacked.
I found out from a phone call from someone who got the phony email from my account that it was one of those I am in Spain deals and I need money. Rest assured, I am OK and no, I never set foot in Spain but as always I appreciate your concern.

As you can see from that email address, there is a perfectly good reason why I am a sports writer and that's because I am just a plain old sports junkie.
