Yorktown Is A Great Town: John "P." Winter Edition

Mmmmmmm, there's still some meat on the bone of that juicy 4/1/2014 town board meeting (part 1, part 2, part 3).

Today we are reviewing a portion of Mr. Giranda's comments.  He's a very well spoken attorney who is against the convalescent home proposal.  While I don't agree with the opposition to the home, I love his logic and reasoning and dogged research.  Specifically, when he notes the discrepancy in the signature on the two memos from the building inspector; I know I sign my name the same way all the time, and I'm not even an attorney.

That said, the good folks over at SaveMoheganLake.com have decided to do a little research to further Mr. Giranda's by FOILing all of the building inspector's memos for the last couple years to see how often there is and isn't a "P" in Mr. Winter's name.  Would it matter if he had authorized someone else to sign for him? Would anyone care either way?  He raises some intriguing questions about the integrity of the process and the town's dealings with certain individuals.  At any rate, it should be interesting to see that data.

The clip ends with our quote of the day: "I don't know if this is the way the town does business, or if this is the way Mr. Capellini does business with the town--but something's wrong here." [and the crowd goes wild]  It is amazing how he operates.  It's as if there is a shadow code Mr. Capellini wrote, not available to the public, yet the volunteer boards are all familiar with it.  He is a master prestidigitator when it comes to manipulating the bureaucratic wheels of Yorktown.  He was elected supervisor in the 1970's and never really left, establishing a lucrative practice out of Town Hall.  Look out for further evidence of such from last night's (4/7/2014) Planning Board meeting to come, shortly.
