Come join the joy of the musicians and singers of Beit Tefila Yisraeli right here in Westchester. They will perform Thursday night, December 5, 7pm at Hebrew Congregation of Somers, in the Shenorock section of town.
Beit Tefilah is an Israeli "secular" (which means not affiliated with any movement) congregation. Most of the year they meet in their synagogue in downtown Tel Aviv. In the summer, they have services in the Tel Aviv Port and go from about 100 people to about 1,000.
What makes them unique is their blend of tradition and modernity. Many of the traditional prayers are set to new music composed by an Israeli rock star but you may also hear songs like "It's a Beautiful World" and "Let it Be" sung in Hebrew. Four musicians/singers will be performing for us.
Tickets are $18 apiece and are available at the door. For more information: info@hebrewcongregationofsomers.org, 914-248-9532.
