We are still in America...let the courts Prove him guilty before you make judgment...
Elizabeth July 23, 2014 at 08:58 am
There were two people in this relation. Nobody twisted her arm. Yes he deserves some kind ofRead More community service or something. I think is wrong to label any young man with rape when the girl agrees to have sex with them.
Mike Rodriques July 23, 2014 at 09:18 am
I'm not making a statement as to whether he is guilty or innocent. The courts will do that.Read More However, whether she consented or not is irrelevant. The rape charge references her age. She is below the age of consent, therefore the fact that she was consensual is irrelevant.

Drones are dangerous. A blast of wind can cause it to come crashing down. I saw a person die duringRead More a half time event at Shea stadium where a model plane hit someone in the head. A drone is just a more sophisticated model plane.
Anthony July 20, 2014 at 09:03 am
The type of Drone that this man used to photograph a building are less "dangerous" thanRead More automobiles, airplanes, and even bicycles. the statistics of one being hit by a model plane (including a drone type) are 10million to one. Car 565,000to one. pedestrians struck by a bike 76000 last year in the USA.

In fact, college rape stats are downplayed rather than exaggerated. Colleges hide incidencesRead More internally with campus security and sexual assault committees, rather than notifying the police who would make a public record of the event. Evidentially there is a "Red Zone" where girls are most likely to be rape - between the start of school and Thanksgiving freshman year. Mainly, inexperience with alcohol and not knowing who to trust. Girls NEVER go alone to a campus party, take a friend(s). Make a pack to go home together. Always assume the "jungle juice" punch will be spiked. If offer a water or soda, make sure it has been tampered with. And, if anything happens go to the hospital and the police, not the college security who (1) aren't trained and (2) work for the college who has financial incentive in not reporting and (3) can't send the rapist to jail.

In fact, college rape stats are downplayed rather than exaggerated. Colleges hide incidencesRead More internally with campus security and sexual assault committees, rather than notifying the police and making a public record. Evidentially, there is a "Red Zone" when girls are most likely to be rape - between the start of freshman year to Thanksgiving Break - when girls are less inexperience with alcohol and don't have strong friendships yet. Girls NEVER go alone to a campus party, take a friend(s). Make a pack to go home together. Always assume the "jungle juice" punch will be spiked. If offer a water or soda, make sure it has NOT been tampered with. And, if anything happens go to the hospital and the police, not the college security who (1) aren't trained and (2) work for the college who has financial incentive in not reporting and (3) can't send the rapist to jail. Lower the drinking age back down to 18 years old! Girls need to control their liquor instead of relying on the older 21+ students to provide the "jungle juice" punches that are so common now. Girls don't know the type of liquor, its proof and how much is used in these punches.
Max E Leahy July 18, 2014 at 09:12 am
As a recent college graduate I cannot agree with you more Anne. If we lowered the drinking age backRead More to 18 everyone would be a lot more responsible with with their drinking. By making it illegal to drink at 18, it just makes college students want to over indulge.

Hey David, "Dou-Bag", what does Bush and Bin Laden have to do with a personal criminalRead More case? Besides, Bin Laden is dead and nothing has changed. The occupant in the W.H. will be on trial soon as well, don't worry!

Alfred Patch writer - did Greg Schillinglaw from Journal News report any details? For example, whoRead More declared the suspect "drunk"? Was there a BAC test done by responding officers? Where was the suspect before the shooting.? Anybody know? Or was it the typical Journal News article - lots of "scary stuff" about guns, and nothing of use to read.
Amy S. July 19, 2014 at 01:31 pm
Those two must have been doing something in that car. A police officer doesn't just fire a gun atRead More your car for fun.

It must be quite a day for a male in a female prison. Hard to imagine what goes on in there!

$500 bail for rape is ridiculous. Should have been $50K at least. I am assuming (hoping} it was aRead More typo by patch? Anyhow hats off to the NY troopers for nailing this scumbag.
amerpatriot July 10, 2014 at 08:24 am
Nice reporting. Is he a "former Corrections Officer"? He was suspended May 6 - is heRead More still on the payroll? Is he suspended with or without pay until Sept 4. Let's see... be convicted of a Class E Felony for Rape in the 3rd Degree or lose $500 and hit the road. That's a gimme if I ever saw one...

Back seated or front seated car seat.... my question is: how in the WORLD can these parents goRead More hours, and hours throughtout the day without thinking about their baby??? Don't they think about their child like: what is he/she doing right now, is he sleeping or playing with his friends, is he eating right now? Is he ok????etc...). Don't they call each other (mom/dad) to ask how the daycare drop off went??? My God!!! I think they should have the same punishment.
Ron Drew July 16, 2014 at 03:57 pm
Rita is correct in her response but what I am saying is to be consistent. New Haven should notRead More arrest a parent for accidentally leaving a child in the car and Ridgefield not arrest. Also Igor indicated not to put the burden on the car makers. Yet they now have computer chips to stop the car before it hits something and beeps at the driver if they move across the center line. All these are good things so how about something that helps solve this problem.
johndoe July 17, 2014 at 02:46 pm
OK. so what is the verdict??? why is it taking so F***** long to convict a father who killed hisRead More baby!

At this point in its death throes, Patch struggles even to post a coherent and accurate headline.Read More Without the second comma to complete the dependent clause, it reads as if the "Brewster Man" and "Ex-NYPD Cop" are two different people. The wrong word choice of "After" further implies the incident just happened, when it was two years ago. It should read, "Brewster Man, Ex-NYPD Cop, Faces Sentencing for Punching Disabled Man" but what's the use... good editors are not hard to find, but they do like to be paid.

IP does NOT generate 2064 megawatts, it produces 2064 GIGAWATTS. "Area Man July 07, 2014 atRead More 07:01 PM So that's 6.5 acres per mw. IP generates 2064mw according to their website. That makes 13416 acres. Divided by 640 acres per sq mile equals 20.9 sq miles."
