<p>SPARC (Special Program and Resource Connection) is a Yorktown-based nonprofit organization that provides high quality and therapeutic recreation for individuals with disabilities. SPARC was established over 21 years ago by Yorktown resident and Executive Director, Rose Rothe.</p> <p>SPARC's team of experienced and creative professionals are trained in specializations including therapeutic recreation, music therapy, art therapy, psychology, nursing, special education and social work. </p> <p>The SPARC home administrative office is located in Yorktown Heights, New York. Its youth, teen and adult outreach extends to disabled residents and their families in the greater Westchester County area.</p> <p>There are over seventy programs available through SPARC's skilled professional network to help to promote skill development, independence, socialization and self-fulfillment.</p> <p>One-hundred percent self-supported, SPARC raises funding through its participant fees, yearly golf outings and galas as well as individual donations. In addition to services offered to the disabled, SPARC also offers respite time for caretakers managing the multiple demands of caring for disabled family members. </p>
