Hilltop Hanover Farm Events: Pumpkin Day; Fall Guided Hike; Couples Cooking

There are plenty of events coming up in October at Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown, which you can take advantage of:

Fabulous Farm Stand Fridays and Super Farm Stand Saturdays

Fridays, Oct. 11, 18, 25, 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturdays, Oct. 12, 19, 25 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. 

Pick up freshly harvested produce grown on the farm without the use of pesticides, synthesized fertilizers or herbicides. Check website for weekly produce availability.
 
U-Pick – Saturdays

Oct. 12, 19, 25 from 10 a.m. – 4p.m. (weather permitting)

Bring you market basket and harvest your own vegetables, herbs and flowers. Pay for your produce at the farm stand. Check website for weekly produce availability.
 
Couples Cooking

Friday, Oct. 18, 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. in Barn F.

Join a local farm-to-table chef for an evening of culinary education and enjoyment as you and your partner learn to cook several healthy and delicious restaurant-quality recipes from scratch. The class is limited to 12 couples. Fee is $75 per couple. Online registration only at www.HilltopHanoverFarm.org/Events.
    
Spin & Knit

Saturday, Oct. 19, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Building A.

All levels can gather in an informal atmosphere and be part of a monthly spinning and knitting group. No fee or registration required for first time attendees; $5 for each subsequent class. Pre-register at groups.yahoo.com/group/HanoverSpinKnitIn/
 
Fall Guided Hike

Saturday, October 26, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. 

Celebrate the wonders of the autumn season with a hike on the trails, led by farm naturalist Wilson Chang.
 
Pumpkin Day

Saturday, October 26, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Enjoy an autumnal outing by visiting the farm beautiful farm and picking your own pumpkins, purchasing fresh vegetables at the farm stand, and joining a guided tour of the farm. Tours are at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
