Don't Miss: Veteran's Day Parade; Lakeland Education Foundation Brunch Boutique

There are tons of ways to keep busy around Yorktown and Somers this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you. Here are the details for several great events.

Dairy Pot Luck Dinner and Shabbat Service

The Hebrew Congregation of Somers, located at Cypress Lane and Mervyn Drive in Shenorock, is holding a Dairy Pot Luck dinner and Shabbat Service on Friday, Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m. in honor of Veteran's Day. Email info@hebrewcongregationofsomers.org or call 914-248-9532 for more information.

Lakeland Education Foundation's Ladies' Brunch Boutique


It will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cortlandt Colonial. Have a wonderful brunch and shop at the same time. Film Screening of 'A Place at the Table'

First Presbyterian Church of Yorktown is holding a screening of the film on hunger on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. A discussion on hunger in Westchester will follow and refreshments will be served. The church is located at 2880 Crompond Road, Yorktown Heights (Corner of Route 132 and Crompond Road). 

Veteran's Day Parade in Yorktown 

The annual Yorktown Veterans Day Parade will be held this Sunday, Nov. 10 in Shrub Oak. Line-up will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Lakeland High School East entrance parking lot. The parade will step off at 2 p.m. from the high school, march east on Main Street and end at the John C. Hart Memorial Library. A brief ceremony honoring our veterans will follow on the grounds of the library.
