Don't Miss: Holiday Bazaar; Photos with Santa; 'Tree of Life' Lighting Ceremony

There are tons of ways to keep busy around Yorktown and Somers this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you. Here are the details for several great events.


'Tree of Life' Lighting Ceremony

The Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam will kick off its 25th annual Tree of Life celebration with a tree lighting ceremony at the Jefferson Valley Mall on Friday, Nov. 22. The event will include festive holiday musical entertainment, which will be provided by the Taghkanic Chorale of Yorktown. It is open to the public and is free of charge. 

The Tree of Life annual benefit raises funds to support Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam’s charitable community programs, including bereavement support groups, art therapy, educational workshops, and financial support to  underserved populations.

It is Good to Give Thanks, A Shabbat Evening Service

New Shabbat Service Music at the Temple Israel of Northern Westchester's accompanist will feature Dina Pruzhansky at the 8 p.m. Friday night service on Nov. 22. The event is free and open to the public. More details here.

Pet CPR and First Aid Training

Dave Cosmo, a CPR trainer who is certified to teach CPR through ECSI - (Emergency Care and Safety Institute and is an American Heart Association training coordinator, will hold the training at Heritage Hills Activities Center in Somers on Saturday, Nov. 23. Following the course each person will receive a certification card. Call Nancy to register - 914-275-6030. The fee is $45.

Holiday Bazaar in Yorktown

Vendors will be selling their wares - from homemade crafts to baked goods, and much more. The event is open to the public. It will be held on Sunday, Nov. 24 at the Yorktown Grange, located at 99 Moseman Road.

Make Memories with Santa at the Jefferson Valley Mall

Eager children and their families can once again experience the magic of the holiday season with a visit to the Santa Photo Experience at Jefferson Valley Mall. Children can be photographed with Santa now through Dec. 24. in Center Court.
