Yorktown's Memorial Day Starts with Ceremony, Ends with Parade

Memorial Day Weekend is more than just the official kickoff for summer. It is a wonderful opportunity to remember those that serve and have served our country, especially those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedoms.

A ceremony marking Memorial Day will be held at Yorktown Town Hall at 11 a.m. May 27.

The annual parade will follow, kicking off at about 11:15. The officers of American Legion Post 1009 ask that members who are marching be there by 10:45 to form up. It ends at DeVito Veteran's Memorial Gazebo on Veterans Road.
