No Trash, Recycling in Yorktown

There will be no trash or recycling collections in Yorktown on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 20 as town offices are closed for the federal holiday. Click here for more details on the schedule changes

Summer Trails on Ice

The third annual Summer Trails on Ice will be held on Monday, Jan. 20 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Brewster Ice Arena, located at 63 Fields Lane. The free event will feature an afternoon of seeing old friends, making new friends, games, crafts, snacks and of course, ice skating.

Blood Drive at LCBMS 

A blood drive will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 21 from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School. There will be student greeters in the lobby to escort you to the drive, to take place in one of the cafeterias.

Knitting Circle for Women with Cancer

Great comfort is found by many in the time-honored practices of knitting and  crocheting. Knitting circles offer women a place to gather around a common interest. The meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. is for women with cancer. It will be held in Support Connection's office in Yorktown. More details here.

Yorktown's Foundation for Excellence - Wine Tasting

The wine tasting fundraiser will feature Peter Pratt's appetizers. It will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at Peter Pratt's Inn in Yorktown. Yorktown Toastmasters Open House

Need help with your communication? Do you want to ace that interview? Do you have a big presentation coming up? A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills.  A new chapter of Toastmasters International is starting in Yorktown. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Yorktown Town Hall, 363 Underhill Avenue in Yorktown Heights.

Lions and Puppies and Wine

The Somers Lions Club is inviting community members to a special evening of wine, live music, dancing and puppies. The evening provides people with a chance to learn about the Lions Club, its members and leadership, and its mission and work in the community. 

Members of the Yorktown's Guiding Eyes staff will be in attendance with actual puppies who are now in training to be service dogs. The event will be held on Friday, Jan. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at The Pinnacle Restaurant, at the Somers Pointe Country Club. More details here.
